THE PROCESS

What's Included in Our Alloy Wheel Coating Service

Every wheel goes through the same five-stage process at our shop. A coating only bonds properly if the prep underneath it is right.

01. Full hand wash
Clean every face, barrel, and spoke gap, not just the parts you can see from the kerb.
02. Iron fallout and tar removal
Strip embedded brake dust and road tar chemically before any coating goes near the surface.
03. Decontamination and drying
Clay or chemical decontamination to leave bare, pore-free alloy, followed by a full dry.
04. Polish and prep
Light polish where needed to even out the surface and lift dullness before the coating goes on.
05. Ceramic coating and cure
Apply a high-temperature ceramic coating by hand, then cure it so the wheels can handle brake heat from day one.

Know Your Options

Bare Alloy vs Sealed vs Ceramic Coated Wheels

This is the difference a proper wheel coating makes to your weekly wash routine, not just how the wheels look on day one.

Factors Bare Alloy Wheel Sealant Ceramic Coated
Weekly cleaning time 15–20 min scrubbing 8–10 min 2–3 min rinse
Brake dust bonding Bakes on fast Reduced, wears off in weeks Minimal, resists baking on
Corrosion resistance Low, prone to pitting Moderate High
Typical lifespan 2–3 months 1–3 years

Experience, the right prep, and a coating built for the heat wheels actually face.

Certified Professionals

When you choose our shop, you get experts who hold International Detailing Association (IDA CD-SV) credentials with verified skills.

10+ Years of Hands-On Experience

We've been decontaminating and coating wheels since long before it became a standard add-on. We know how a coating holds up after a real winter, not just a demo video.

Built for Brake Heat, Not Just Looks

We apply specialised 9H wheel ceramic to prevent brake dust buildup and brake heat. Alloy ceramic coating is a must-have service.

We Know Meath and Dublin Road Grime

Grit spread, coastal salt air, and stop-start commuter traffic all bake dust onto alloys faster than average. We prep with that in mind, not a generic checklist.

FAQs

How long does alloy wheel ceramic coating last?

A properly applied wheel coating typically lasts one to three years, depending on driving conditions and how the wheels are cleaned. Regular hand washing without harsh acid-based wheel cleaners extends the life of the coating.

No. Ceramic coating protects against brake dust bonding, chemical staining, and corrosion. It won’t stop a kerbed rim or a deep scratch. For physical damage, you’d need alloy wheel refurbishment or repair, not a coating.

Yes. Wheel coating is booked as its own service. Plenty of clients add it to a paint ceramic coating or full valet, but it is not required.

Hand wash with a pH-neutral wheel cleaner and a soft brush. Avoid strong acid-based cleaners and automatic car washes, which shorten the life of any coating.
